Mesimvria Wines
The winery and vineyards of “Mesimvria Winery” are located in Nea Mesimvria, Thessaloniki. Nea Mesimvria lies northwest of Thessaloniki city, about 20 km away. It is built on hills with an average altitude of 200 meters, overlooking the Thermaic Gulf.
The company was founded in 1996 by Periklis Drachas and Theodoros Paraskevopoulos with the goal of highlighting the viticultural potential of the area through the creation of quality wines. They soon realized that to achieve this, intensive viticulture had to stop, and only quality grapes should be produced based on the capabilities of each vineyard site.

THE WINERY
Our Facilities
“Mesimvria Winery” owns a private winery located in the heart of a vineyard, at the 2nd km of Anchialos – Nea Mesimvria road.
The winery complies with the rules and specifications of the ISO 22000 food quality and safety management system. All areas of the “Mesimvria Winery” facilities are open to visitors and cover a total area of 3,000 sq.m.
The production areas are as follows:

The people of “Mesimvria Winery” believe that presenting wines without a tasting is incomplete. For this reason, they have designed and organized a visitor-friendly winery. Thus, apart from the production areas, the following hospitality spaces have also been created:

THE VINEYARDS
The Soul of Our Wines
The vineyards of “Mesimvria Winery” are located in the estate area of Nea Mesimvria, close to the winery. There is no irrigation system in the vineyards, following a cultivation method with low yield per hectare and very good grape ripening. The soils are sandy-clay and sloped, allowing good drainage of rainwater, which helps prevent disease development in the grapes.
The varieties cultivated in the vineyards of “Mesimvria Winery” are numerous. Among the white varieties are the Greek Malagouzia, Roditis, Moschato Alexandrias, Assyrtiko, and the French Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The red varieties grown are the international Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. During the guided tours organized by “Mesimvria Winery,” vineyard visits are available from March to October.
